Long time between Google backlinks

August 12th, 2006

It’s been a very long time between Google backdates. So long, in fact, that I’ve grown a long beard and am much older than the last time. Kids have graduadted college, and elderly people have gone to the great beyond.

Damn, Google. Hustle up. I don’t have all day to sit around and wait. You’re making me crazy, and that’s not good.

Now I need to upgrade my Wordpress. This version is way old.

Has Google lost it?

The rumors are circulating: Google is out of disk space, or is broken in some way. It’s easy to discount such talk without doing a thorough investigation, but it would be short-sighted to do so. The number of pages missing from sites are HUGE. You’re talking about much of the world’s information is missing, if you believe the Google site: command.

Fortunately I don’t believe the site: command. The data centers have changed so much in the last few weeks that it’s doubtful the info we’re looking at is accurate. There appears to be a heavy crawl in the last few weeks, so maybe things will improve.

Strange Google problem - many pages missing

April 19th, 2006

I’m seeing a problem that’s being reported by many people lately. There are a great number of pages missing in the Google index from several of my sites.

Everyone has been complaining about how bad “Big Daddy” has been, and it’s hard to argue. The problems with Google seem to be ongoing and widespread. We’ll keep an eye out, but I’m not expecting to see the missing pages anytime soon.
