Thousands destroyed during continuing Search Engine Upheaval.
Check SEOChat, or WMW, and do a quick scan of headlines of the newest posts and you’ll many threads like these:
“Was first in Google, now am 399!”
“Site gone from Google! What next?”
A few years ago, you would see an overwhelming number of posts praising Google, the company, as well as praising the efficiency of their search engine. Such praise is less common now. More and more webmasters appear to be getting dumped every day, and this is regardless of what tactics they employ for achieving rankings. Being a good White Hat SEO is no longer the perfect guarantee it once was. In a second, any website can be dumped from the index.
In the last 24 hours (10/17/2005) many more webmasters have experienced the quick ride from relevancy to page 71. All the webmasters are conversing, with the hopes of figuring out what led them to this predicament. Right now, there is no guidance from Google, so webmasters will just have to wait. Or better yet, webmasters will just have to go on about their business, regardless of what happens with Google. That’s what I keep doing, and I’m a lot happier for it.
