Mysterious Bacon Polenta Update claims victims

It’s hurricane season not only in Florida, but also in the “SEO World”, wherever that may exist. Shock waves have been sent out every month this year, culminating in a particularly nasty round currently being circulated. This update is being called the “Bacon Polenta” update by near-insiders and near-seo-elite.

Heres to hoping your bacon wasn’t fried during this latest update.

For those poor souls who are not experiencing any “bacon-y goodness” because of UBP, they think these results are for the birds. Even “data-watchers”, so-called because of their enormous capacity for attention to detail and even minutia, have announced that UBP is a very tough thing to watch. Theories are flying faster than the fur in a fight initiated by 5 cats finding a tin of tuna. Personally, I can’t shed much light on the technical reasons this update has gone haywire.

I’m not sure anyone, outside of Google insiders, who are a notoriously tight-lipped crew, are likely to shed light on the subject. Long threads with play by plays concering the information contained at a particular data center are bound to excite very few people. However, if you have an “affected site”, you’re likely to check the information many times daily just to see if there’s any news.

It does appear that Google is running multiple tests on certain datasets in order to pick an eventual “winner” for the category. There are what appear to be a number of new ranking mechanisms in place, however, without isolating any of them, it would be very difficult to offer any type of reasonably accurate discourse on the subject. The only thing one can invariably do, is wait, and hope that they’ve built the perfect website that will be valued by Google in the same light as it’s loved by the website author. To anyone out there affected by this or any other search engine update, just remeber: it’s always darkest before the dawn.
